Star topology- this network requires a central server (switching hub) to route the data to clients. so ang data flow between the server and the nodes is relatively low. ang advantage daw is pwede gamitan lang ug low specification transmission media. and kung failure ang isa ka node...dili maka-apekto sa tibook network. disadvantage...is that the network is highly dependent upon the operation of the central server. example. kung hinay central server, hinay pod ang ang mga node...or the whole network itself. kung un-operational ang central server, then the network will be shut down.
Mesh topology- this network is very reliable kay ang nodes can be interconnected to one another, so it can provide alternative routes in forwarding a message from a sending node to its destination node. pero mas lisod i-manage og expensive pod daw.
Bus topology- there are two types of bus topology. the linear bus and distributed bus. In linear bus network, the nodes are connected to a common transmission medium nga naay duha ka endpoints. ang tanan nga data which are transmitted between nodes in the network was transmitted in a common transmission medium.(backbone or trunk as described). and remember that the two endpoints of common transmission medium are normally terminated, to prevent interference and degradation of the signals on the medium. the second type is distributed bus- this is in which all nodes are connected to a common transmission medium which has more than two endpoints by adding branches to the main section of the transmission medium. pero gihapon ang flow sa pag-transmit og data sa linear bus.
Tree topology- also known as hierarchical. in this network, naay ginatawag nga central "root" node( the top level of the hierarchy) is connected to one or more other nodes that are one level lower (second level) with a point-to-point link, same pod sa third level, connected sa second. note: the hierarchy of the tree is symmetrical, each node in the network having a specific fixed number, f, of nodes connected to it at the next lower level in the hierarchy, the number, f, being referred to as the 'branching factor' of the hierarchical tree.
